Maine HR Convention Mood Music

Tracy Chapman absolutely torched the music world in the mid 90’s with this bluesy/rock number. Give Me One Reason burst onto the scene just in time for the first Maine HR Convention 25 years ago. With a beat that goes straight to the heart.

So, if you’re thinking of anything other than a trip to the Convention this May, I’ll quote Tracy’s punchline. “Turn right back around,” and head your car to the Samoset.

As for that one reason to make the journey? I suppose there are many – rich content, the passion of our Convention team, your career, your employer and employees. But if I have to narrow it down to one; it’s relationships. The camaraderie you build at the Convention will help you out of HR traffic jams. And at a higher level, it will open the door to serving your communities in bigger and broader brushstrokes.

For Tracy Chapman fans out there, I’m not underestimating the power of her more lyrical first hit – Fast Car. I just didn’t know how to turn it into an HR blog. That said, there will be lots of mood music at the Samoset this May!
