About Community Health Options
Located in Lewiston, Maine, Health Options is a non-profit, Member-led health insurance carrier providing comprehensive health insurance benefits for individuals, families and businesses. The organization is dedicated to offering affordable, high-quality health benefits through productive partnerships with Members, businesses, and a broad network of providers. Health Options is governed by a Board of Directors, a majority of whom are Community Health Options Members.
Founded in 2011, Health Options remains dedicated to its mission: To partner locally with Members, businesses and health professionals to provide affordable, high quality benefits that promote health and wellbeing.
The team at Health Options takes immense pride in supporting the local economy and providing fellow Mainers a holistic approach to their healthcare needs. When Members reach out to the organization’s call center, they are reminded that they are speaking to a Health Options employee and a person who lives and works in Maine.
The local nonprofit now has more than a third of its business in small and large group lines, and will continue its focus on diversification. Health Options is presently building its self-insured offering and provision of TPA services as it pursues its goal of providing the greatest value in support of Maine businesses and families.
