The Roux Institute at Northeastern University is designed as an engine of innovation, talent-building, and economic growth for Portland, Maine, and northern New England. Partnerships set our model of graduate education, research, and entrepreneurship apart. With leading companies and nonprofit organizations at the table from day one, we’re creating programs that are preparing the workforce to stay agile and relevant in the rapidly evolving regional, national, and global economy.
Since January 2020, the Roux Institute has supported more than 1000 learners with its tech-forward graduate degree and corporate learning programs. Thanks to the Alfond Scholar’s Initiative, the average scholarship award in the 2021-22 academic year was more than $26,000.
Also in its first two years, the Roux Institute has partnered with 80+ industry, academic, non-profit, and civic organizations, hired 36 researchers participating in 75+ research collaborations, and supported 21 start-ups via entrepreneurial programming.
