Adam Burk

Adam Burk helps other humans focus on what matters most and share it with the world – with courage and clarity. He is dedicated to doing deep work in order to live well on this planet, in his local ecosystem and communities.

He runs trainings and workshops, produces events, and collaborates on custom projects.

His current roles include: producer of TEDxDirigo, executive director of Treehouse Institute, CEO of Adam Burk + Co, founder of B-Side Creative Studios, and Maine Registered Guide.

In 2015, he founded the Portland Global Shapers Hub, a group of young Portlanders who apply globally inspired ideas to solve local problems. The hub is part of the Global Shapers Community, an initiative of the World Economic Forum.

Previously, he helped to create more access to healthy food and physical activity across twelve schools in two school districts, through trail building, outing club development, school gardens, and farm to school efforts.

His clients have included: The Nature Conservancy, Quimby Family Foundation, Island Institute, The VIA Agency, Gould Academy, Mount Desert Island Schools, University of Southern Maine, Thomas College, Liberty Mutual, and L.L. Bean.

Built on a foundation as being a lifelong learner with an emphasis on learning by doing, Adam has earned a B.A. in psychology, B.A. in history, an M.A. in education, and a Permaculture Design Certificate.

He lives in Portland, Maine, with his family, who are all happiest when playing outside.
