
Chaplain (Colonel) Andrew L. Gibson has served in the Maine Army National Guard for over thirty-one years. At present, Chaplain Gibson is the Senior Chaplain, Maine National Guard, and the Director of Deployment Cycle Support.
In his current roles, he oversees the spiritual needs for the soldiers and military families of the Maine Guard; coordinates resources including military, state, and civilian professionals and providers who support to our service members, veterans and military families; teaches seminars on military culture and reintegration issues; and serves on the Adjutant General’s full-time staff.
He was deployed twice, to Bosnia and Afghanistan.
His military education includes: the Army Senior Service College Harvard Fellowship, the Army Command and General Staff College, the Chaplain Officer Advanced Course, and the Army Chaplain Officer Basic Course.
Chaplain Gibson is ordained in the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches and served First Congregational Church, Pittsfield, Maine from 1992 through 2003. Andy and his wife of 35 years, Nancy, live in Pittsfield, Maine. Andy and Nancy have three grown children; Daniel, Craig, and Kelly.
