Barry Martin is the Senior Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer at Skowhegan Savings Bank. In his current role, he serves as a member of the Senior Management Team and oversees succession management and culture transformation, talent acquisition and management, health and welfare benefits, employee relations and training and education. He has over 30 years experience in human resources, program and financial management in the private, public and non-profit sectors. Prior to joining Skowhegan Savings Bank, Barry served as Executive Director for the Tri-County Workforce Investment Board at the Eastern Maine Development Corporation where he promoted enhanced coordination between workforce development, the business sector and economic development systems in the region as well as oversight responsibilities for Department of Labor Workforce Development Programs. Barry served as an appointee to the Maine Jobs Council for over 10 years. He has also served as Director of Administration for the Maine Department of Labor’s Bureau of Employment Services.
Barry is a graduate of the University of Maine holding a B.A. in Political Science and a Masters Degree in Public Administration. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SHRM-SCP, SPHR). Barry currently serves as Director at the Maine State Human Resources Council (MESHRM) and is a Past President for the Kennebec Valley Human Resources Association.
