Bob Selle

Bob Selle designs, develops and manages human capital strategy and processes for high-growth companies.  He has led culture change and organizational design for some of America’s most recognized retailers, progressing from store leadership to executive leadership over 2 decades with Kmart and Kohls.  He now serves as the Chief Human Resource Officer for the northeast’s premier close-out retailer Ocean State Job Lot leading a transformation that has named them a Forbes Best Midsize Employer.

He advises companies on leveraging a focus on people and their wellbeing to drive engagement, happiness, and business results.  His transformational leadership at Ocean State Job Lot has earned the company a Rhode Island Healthiest Employer award for the past 2 years and has led to marked improvements in health costs, associate turnover and engagement.

As a believer in collaboration and giving back, he is a presenter and collaborator for CHRO Online, the Corporate Executive Board HR Leadership Council, and the Northeast Human Resource Conference.  He is a consultant and advisor for several startups, and he sits on the Board of Job Club RI.  His extensive volunteer work includes the Rhode Island Free Clinic and mentoring at the Institute for the Study of Nonviolence.
