
CHRISTOPHER J. COTNOIR, ESQ., has worked for the Maine Workers’ Compensation Board since 2002, first as an Employee Advocate and currently as the Deputy Senior Staff Attorney, litigating injured workers’ claims in proceedings before the Board’s Administrative Law Judges and Appellate Division and in the Maine Law Court. Before that, he was an associate attorney for more than six years at the Waterville law firm of Wheeler & Arey, P.A. There, his practice areas included personal injury, Social Security disability, workers’ compensation, bankruptcy, real estate boundary disputes, family law, and general litigation. Mr. Cotnoir received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine, graduating with High Distinction in 1982. He has held several positions with the State of Maine since. He later graduated Cum Laude from the University of Maine School of Law in 1994, after which he served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Maine Superior Court in Kennebec County. Outside of the work environment, Mr. Cotnoir is an avid golfer, skier, and antiques hound. He lives in Gardiner with his wife of nearly forty years, with whom he has four grown sons and six grandchildren.
