Jonathan Torres, MD

Jonathan Torres, MD, FACOEM, Medical Director of St. Mary’s WorkMed, was recently elevated to Fellowship in the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM). Fellow is the highest class of membership within ACOEM. It recognizes physicians who exhibit significant leadership in ACOEM and who demonstrate their expertise in the specialty by achieving certification in occupational medicine. Dr. Torres is Board Certified in Occupational and Environmental Medicine, and a certified Medical Review Officer. He graduated from the University if Virginia Medical School and completed Residency training in Occupational Medicine at the University of Massachusetts. He also has a Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology.

Through his years in occupational medicine he has worked for the United States Air Force as a Flight Surgeon for aircrew members and their families, as well as many major companies. He is currently a Board member on MEMIC’s Medical Advisory Board.

In 2014 Jonathan Torres, MD was chosen for inclusion in Down East Magazine’s “Maine TopDocs Physician Survey 2014” as the top physician in the field of Occupational Medicine. The physicians who made the list were chosen through a peer review in which Maine doctors were asked who they would go to for help if their own family members had health concerns in the specified areas.
