Michael Messerschmidt is Chair of the Labor and Employment Practice Group at Preti, Flaherty in Portland. He represents management in all areas of employment law, including risk management on discipline and termination issues, compliance with civil rights laws, and litigation of all employment issues either in court or before administrative agencies. Michael has been selected for recognition in the Chambers USA Guide to American’s Leading Lawyers for Business, Best Lawyers in America, the New England Super Lawyers List, and he has recently been named a fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. A Portland native, Michael is a graduate of Deering High School, Harvard College, and the University of Maine School of Law.
