Paul Bolin, VP and Chief Human Resources Officer

Paul Bolin has dedicated his career to workforce development and the human resources profession within the State of Maine. A graduate of Bangor High School, the University of Maine (BS 1992, MBA 1999) and Leadership Maine (Nu Class), Paul’s educational background is rooted in Maine’s education system. Paul began his career as a management trainee at Service Merchandise. During his five years in retail, Paul focused his career in the area of human resources and operations. Paul left the retail industry to focus on human resources leadership within Maine’s manufacturing industry, spending 9 years at Interface Fabrics Group (now True Textiles) in Guilford, Maine. Paul then left manufacturing and has spent the past 14 years at Northern Light Health in positions of increasing responsibility until his most recent promotion in January of 2016 to the position of Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, where he is responsible for all aspects of human resources leadership throughout Northern Light Health, serving over 12,000 employees in Maine.

During his 28 year career in human resources and operations, Paul has given back to Maine communities through many volunteering roles, some recent examples of which include the Maine Bar Association’s Fee Arbitration Commission, Eastern Maine Community College’s Early Education Program Advisory Board, The University of Maine’s Maine Business School Advisory Board, the City of Bangor Planning Board, Educate Maine, and many others. Paul also spent years as adjunct faculty at Thomas College and Eastern Maine Community College instructing human resources professionals in Maine to prepare them to sit for their national certification exams. He has also served as an officer of the Human Resources Association of Eastern Maine, and has presented on workforce topics in both state and national conferences.
