
Phil Bartlett was first elected Chair of the Maine Democratic Party in 2014. Previously, he served as Maine’s Democratic National Committeeman following eight years of service in the Maine Senate. First elected at age 28, he served as Senate Majority Leader from 2008 to 2010. Phil has been a champion of progressive values, leading efforts to implement a strong energy policy focused on efficiency and renewable energy and advocating for LGBTQ and civil rights.
Phil has stepped up to leadership positions again and again over the course of his career. A hallmark of his leadership has been the commitment to lift up and empower those around him.
Phil grew up on Gorham and is a graduate of Tufts University and Harvard Law School. He practices law at Scaccia, Bartlett & Chabot, with a focus on workers’ compensation law, representing injured workers.
