Rita is a Mediator with the Workers’ Compensation Board in Bangor and Augusta. Rita has been with the agency since 1984. She was an Employee Assistant, Claims Resolution Specialist (troubleshooter), and in 2005, was one of the two Worker Advocates in the Board’s Worker Advocate Pilot Project. The success of that Project led to the formal creation of the Worker Advocate Division in 1997, and she held the position of Worker Advocate until 2014. In February 2014, she became the Mediator for the Bangor and Augusta offices of the Board. Prior to her work at the Board, Rita worked at the law firms of Cote, Cote & Hamann in Lewiston and Rudman & Winchell in Bangor in the workers’ compensation and civil litigation units.
