Tammy Ranger

Tammy Ranger is the 2017 Maine Teacher of the Year and a National Board Certified Teacher. A lover of books and reading, she finds her work as a reading interventionist at Skowhegan Area Middle School tremendously rewarding. Tammy is active in several professional organizations, including the Maine Education Association’s Instruction and Professional Development Committee, National Board Certified Teachers of Maine, the Maine State Teachers of the Year Association, the Maine Association for Middle Level Educators, and the Maine Writing Project. She lives in Waterville with her husband where she serves as a Trustee for the Waterville Public Library and volunteers for the Evening Sandwich Program. A certified yoga instructor, Tammy enjoys all aspects of healthy living, including hiking, snowshoeing, and kayaking. She has three grown children who continue to inspire her to keep growing and moving outside of her comfort zone.
