PLENARY: Maine Legislative and Workers' Compensation Board Update

What’s it all about? We open the first full day of Comp Summit with a look at the legislative session past and anticipated changes to the Maine Workers’ Compensation Act. Some look to the proposed legislation with hope, others with trepidation. We’ll explore the reality of what happened from three distinct vantage points: John Rohde, Executive Director of the Workers’ Compensation Board; Elizabeth Brogan from the Workers’ Compensation Coordinating Council; and Ben Grant from McTeague Higbee. Plus, we will be inviting key legislators to the table as well. Executive Director Rohde also will tell you a bit about the agenda for the Board meeting to take place later this afternoon, and other matters before the Board.

Approved for 1 SHRM, HRCI (HR) General, and Maine Attorney CLE Credit.

  • Through the ALJ’s questions and the replies of legal counsel, learn about a discrete area of workers’ compensation law and its potential impact to the parties.
