Maine HR Convention: May 11-15, 2020 – Virtual+ Edition

MegaSession B: 25+ Years of Recruiting with your Friends

Tuesday, May 12th, 2020 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

We’ll Be There For You!

In 1995, the World Wide Web was born, dial-up internet seemed fast, “The Rachel” was the trendiest haircut, and the first Maine HR Conference was held. Twenty-five years later there have been many changes, but much of the work of recruiting is the same. Although we have newer technology and shinier, faster toys to utilize, the market for candidates is tighter than ever. The best recruiters are using their “old school” recruitment foundations and adding current strategies to be an impactful business partner and to attract and hire top talent.

Join Heather Jury and Carolyn Hart for a fond look-back at recruiting as it was then; what has changed, and how to move forward in this competitive market.

We will discuss ideas on how to attract and identify candidates using free (or almost-free) strategies, sites and apps. We will teach you how to incorporate both “old school” and “new school” strategic and tactical recruitment practices, use smart sourcing technologies to identify and build candidate pipelines, and how to help your organization take the next steps in finding the top talent. We will help you minimize your time to fill and maximize your recruiting dollars. This will be a fun, informative and timely discussion about how to leverage the best recruitment practices of the past so that you can succeed in the next twenty-five years.

Why you’ll want to participate in this session.

  • We will share low-cost or no-cost sourcing and recruitment strategies, websites, tools, and apps that you can put to use right away.
  • Discover search techniques that help you look at all potential talent—even the ones that might not want to be found.
  • Could your brand BE any more important?
  • Learn the latest tips, tricks and “hacks” to save you time and money.

Approved for SHRM Credit and HRCI General (HR) Credit.
