Conflict Management: It Starts With Your Own Experience

Thursday, May 9th, 2019 @ 2:45 pm - 4:15 pm

What’s it all about? All HR professionals have experienced the stress that comes from having unresolved conflicts both in and outside of the workplace. However, beyond the tension it creates, conflict can also provide opportunities, growth, development, and new ideas. This workshop, presented by Laura Bosse of Geiger, will share the story of her relationship with conflict, and discuss tactics to turn a challenging situation into a productive opportunity for yourself and your organization. Through self-assessment and skill-building strategies, uncover the path to resolve conflict effectively with mutually beneficial solutions. Furthermore, take a glimpse into how sharing your own stories can make the conflict conversation real and relatable, to drive home key points and influence outcome.

Why you’ll want to participate in this session.

  • Learn about 5 conflict management styles, the pros and cons of each, when to use them, and if all else fails – when to let go.
  • Through a self-assessment, find out if you have a predominant conflict management style, what that means, and how to leverage it.
  • Learn about conditions for problem solving and take away a conflict management worksheet.

Applying for SHRM credit and HRCI general (HR) credit.
