Socially Responsible Problem Solving
Fresh out of Brown University in Providence, Tyler Gage chose a path less traveled – linguistics research while living among the indigenous people of the Amazon. Along the way, he developed a unique world view and discovered a tea leaf called guayusa. In this Tuesday morning keynote, Tyler will share the story of RUNA, one of the fastest growing beverage companies in the world. RUNA offers a variety of organic, clean energy drinks based on the guayusa leaf. The company has a Certified “B” designation, meaning it meets legally defined goals for a positive impact on society, workers, community, and the environment. RUNA helps sustain some 3,000 indigenous families and maintain the rainforest canopy. The company story feeds into Tyler’s discussion of collaboration. He will deconstruct the Hero Mythology on which so much of society and corporate structure is based, and he will offer his take on deep listening, richer communications, and line blurring. It’s about a circular, rather than linear path. And it’s a great adventure, from imagination to social responsibility to success.
