Turn the Challenge of Compliance into the Engine of Claims Success
Compliance is often seen in a negative light. In this session, Joan Marquis (Compliance Manager from Sedgwick) turns that perception around by reminding attendees of the intent behind the concept and the benefits to be gained. Compliance means ensuring accurate and timely benefits for the injured worker. Everyone who cares about their employees and the comp system want that result. Timely and accurate benefits reduce litigation and increase satisfaction for the employee and the employer. This session will be a “reset” to put compliance back in a positive light, explain to the parties how they can help ensure compliance, and how when necessary they can tell their story to MAE with integrity. An engaging story or two will be the vehicle for getting the session rolling and will lead to a discussion of the parameters of what “Accurate and Timely” means and a system for setting measurable compliance goals. Of course, to achieve compliance you must have accurate forms processing, and to that end, Gordon Davis (Training and Outreach Coordinator, Workers’ Compensation Board) will join in the discussion.
