MegaSession C: Legal Approaches to Weeding Out Workplace Culture Criminals

Tuesday, May 12th, 2020 @ 2:45 pm - 4:30 pm

Impactful Risk Management

What’s it all about? Every organization has workers whose attitudes, hostility, and manipulative conduct are toxic to their teams. These behaviors take many shapes and forms. Effective discipline – coaching, verbal and written warnings, and related measures – may or may not drive performance and morale improvements. The implications for your risk management and culture are very real, particularly when a company fails to understand the at-will doctrine, allows managers to discipline employees inconsistently, or neglects to employ key tools such as performance improvement plans and periodic self-assessments. Attorneys Michael Messerschmidt and Matt LaMourie, aka “The Preti Players,” will use a series of videos to profile the most common “culture criminals” in your workplace and highlight strategies that will help manage these unique circumstances and enhance your workplace environment.

Why you’ll want to participate in this session.

  • Learn how to identify the “culture criminals” within your organization.
  • Engage in discussions on how to tactically address the conduct of these culture criminals and stay out of employment law jeopardy.
  • And, discover how to create a workplace setting that discourages demoralizing conduct in the first instance.
