What’s it all about? Studs Terkel, Chicago author, Pulitzer Prize winner, broadcaster, and advocate for the “common” American spoke to us in a simple, yet beautiful prose, holding that work “is about a search, too, for daily meaning as well as daily bread, for recognition as well as cash, for astonishment rather than torpor; in short, for a sort of life rather than a Monday through Friday sort of dying.” It’s a difficult time in America and certainly for all of us serving in human resources.
