Workshop A: A Practical Guide to Navigating the Maine Workers’ Compensation Medical Process

Following up on the medical discussions from the morning sessions, Kenji Saito, MD, Medical Director of Workplace Health, and Nelson Larkins of Preti Flaherty lead you on an interactive journey through the Maine Workers’ Compensation medical process. Medical and legal perspectives will be shared on topics including: ten day medical providers; integrated medical services and the role of specialists; the medical profession’s role in defining incapacity and permanent impairment; how doctors and lawyers communicate; and the latest best practices regarding medication use, opioids, and medical marijuana. Be ready to jump into the fray with practical questions and comments to share your perspective.

Approved for 1.5 CLE, CCMC, SHRM, and HRCI general (HR) credit.
