Find a Better Path to Strategic Talent Acquisition
There are endless avenues for you to pursue in your quest for the best talent. Many of them are good tactical choices for the short-term, but then they vanish into thin air. The focus of HR too often connects with the circumstances of the moment – feast in economic down cycles and famine when things are going well. This session is designed to help you break out of that cycle by ensuring that your organization has a sophisticated, strategic talent plan that speaks to the long term. We want you to think about a range of external issues that will affect your hiring patterns in the coming years: demographics, the status of your industry and competition, and the quality of neighboring educational institutions. You also will consider the internal issues you can control: the diversity of your recruiting practices, how you on-board employees, and the training and development opportunities you provide to enrich employees and encourage them to stay with the organization. The final piece of the puzzle will ask you and your c-suite to consider how all these factors are related to your company brand, the values you espouse, and the basic ethos of your organization.
