The Great Debate Returns

Monday, August 27th, 2018 @ 1:15 pm - 2:15 pm

Comp’s kitchen sink forum – should this REALLY be paid?

This engaging staple of Comp Summit gets to the heart of whether or not a claim should be paid. The kitchen sink panelists continue to refresh this presentation and they will debate not only whether an injury arises out of and in the course of employment, but also other interesting issues and claims decided by the Board, Appellate Division and/or Law Court. Using a fast-paced and entertaining debate to engage even the most seasoned practitioner, the panel will present the employer, claims manager, and employee’s perspective and the audience will weigh in before the outcome of the actual case is given. Because the scenarios are real cases, the debate and PowerPoint presentation give attendees practical guidance and reference materials to assist in analyzing new and pending claims.

Faculty: Anne-Marie Storey (Rudman Winchell in Bangor); Tamii Rose (Claims Manager, Goodwill Industries of Northern New England in Gorham); Rita Bean (Mediator, Workers’ Compensation Board in Bangor); and Carol McMannus (Leen, Chase & Dufour in Bangor).

Approved for 1.0 CLE, CCMC, SHRM, HRCI general (HR), and NH Adjuster credit.
