From Malden Mills to Puerto Rico
Crisis management is a series of plans and processes that an organization creates to mitigate and recover from an unexpected, intrusive, or dangerous event. Traditional plans focus on infrastructure, operations, and public relations, but as Human Resource professionals, we recognize that there is an important piece of the puzzle missing: the people. While those who are responsible for carrying out a crisis management plan have long been identified, have we included a plan that focuses on the well-being of those in charge, our employees, and their families? Valerie Leduc, VP of Operations for Angelo’s in Providence, RI, joins us to discuss the human plan in crisis planning. We will review examples of successful crisis management, where leadership placed focus on people over process – allowing the business to remain viable during a time of hardship. You will leave this session able to identify competencies and immediate actions for developing leadership’s human plan at your organization.
